Garbett Chemist is part of Shadforth Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. which is a family owned company that is still owned by the Shadforth family. We celebrated our 100 year anniversary of incorporation in 2016. The company was originally called Shadforth Prescription Services and made and sold its own range of medications both within the UK and to Continental Europe and beyond. Since then it has evolved and adapted to the changing healthcare needs, to become the Company that it is today. At our core is the belief that our customers should be listened to, not sold to, and that if we can help improve people’s lives, then that is what we would want to do. To do that, our aim is to offer services to our customers, beyond the preparation of prescriptions, including: free Blood Pressure checks; Medicine Use reviews; a Home Delivery service for those that need it; both NHS and Private Health checks; both a private and NHS Flu Vaccination service; Smoking Cessation support; Emergency Contraception, both under locally funded services for the 18’s and under and privately for the over 18’s.
